SHIVERING STRINGS WINNIPEG
JANUARY 26, 27, 28, 2018
A Weekend Fiddle, Banjo, Piano, Guitar Camp
One thing that there is no shortage of in Winnipeg in January is cold weather! A great way to distract ourselves from the shivering would be to spend a weekend playing music with old and new friends.
The weekend will begin on Friday night with a Meet and Greet jam session. (Location TBA) Classes will run in the morning and afternoon on Saturday and Sunday, finishing off with a student concert on Sunday afternoon.
Registration is now open. Click here to sign up.
You will be sent a Dropbox link to the sheet music as well as mp3's. This is for you to learn the tunes ahead of time, so that when you come to the camp, you are able to spend time fine tuning the material with the instructors who will be visiting each of the classes.
The guitar and piano classes will work independently on the accompaniment and the banjo class will work on a feature of their own.
On Saturday night there will be an old time dance held at Harrow United Church - 955 Mulvey Avenue
Classes will be held at Ecole Seven Oaks Middle School (ESOMS), 800 Salter Street in Winnipeg.
Gordon Stobbe (fiddle)
JJ Guy (fiddle)
Troy MacGillivray (fiddle)
Karen Warner (fiddle)
Garnet Knight (guitar/mandolin)

Instructor roster may change depending on enrollment. Students must already be able to play at least 6 tunes (no raw beginners.)
